[19 October 2015] Shenzhen, China—: Underscoring Mission Hills’ reputation as the pioneer and innovator in China’s golf and leisure industry, the Mission Hills Footgolf Championship Grand Final, a total of 36 two-man teams battled for honours on the resort’s famous Pete Dye Course at Mission Hills Mid Valley, Shenzhen.
Putting their best foot forward, Zhang Yunlong and Hu Zhiqiang has been crowned champions at the championship today.
In a dramatic culmination to a three-month programme that comprised four qualifying rounds, Luan Chen, Pi Siwei , Ji Jie and Liu Mengyang held their nerve to clinch a memorable victory.
As China champions they will now be presented with the opportunity to compete in the Footgolf World Cup 2016, to be held in Argentina.

Chu added that Mission Hills is committed to developing footgolf with the launch of a domestic league, the staging of international events and the creation of a permanent footgolf course open to the public all on the agenda.
Among the competitors in the Mission Hills Footgolf Championship Grand Final was Edison Luan Chen, who formerly starred for Geylang United and Tanjong Pagar United in Singapore’s S. League.
“Footgolf is the same structure as golf, except you are playing with your feet. It’s great fun and requires strategy," said Luan, who was partnered by Chinese Football Association Super League player Pi Siwei.
Other notable names in the field included striker Ji Jie, Shenzhen Yuheng’s Li Fei and international representatives Edward O'Neill, Adam White, Timothy Mileson and Samuel Grubb.
As well as the team competition, prizes were awarded to the leading individuals in the two divisions – males aged 18 and over who played from the blue tees and juniors and girls aged between 10 and 17 who played from the red tees.
The sport has the same basic rules and concepts as golf, except players kick a football rather than use traditional clubs and golf balls.
